A liturgy commemoration includes the name of a person, living or reposed, in the Divine Liturgy. It is customary to make an offering for each liturgy requested; please use the envelopes marked "General Offerings" which may be found on the table in the Narthex. Please remember that on-going Liturgy Commemorations must be renewed in writing before the first Sunday of the month.
A memorial service is a special service following the Divine Liturgy in which persons who have reposed are commemorated. It includes the blessing of wheat or sweetened bread. In addition to the offering for the liturgy commemoration, it is customary to make an additional offering for the memorial service.
It is the responsibility of the family to provide the wheat or sweetened bread for the memorial service by preparing it themselves or by ordering the wheat from Ron and Neva Farrah (202-966-5083). The current price is $25. Please be sure to order the wheat as soon as you have confirmed the date for the memorial with the church office.
